Knox County Adult High School

Remember, you must have permission from your teacher to participate in coursework downloading.

Knox County Adult High School coursework was created using Microsoft Office (primarily Microsoft Word). Downloaded documents should open automatically if your computer includes Microsoft Word. If you do not have Microsoft Word, or if you are having other problems, try opening WordPad (Included with Windows under All Programs, Accessories) and then opening downloaded documents.

Downloading

Standard Directions are written for Internet Explorer 6.

Step 1 on your home computer create a new folder under My Documents using your username

Step 2 connect to the internet http://kcahs.knox.k12tn.net/ and select Downloads. (Downloads are also available via other links.)

Step 3 proceed to Downloads/Uploads (additional directions available on the left column of page)

Step 4 enter username and password (the same username and password used to login at TCS. username must begin with centerschool\ [centerschool\username])

                        Note: If Internet Exporer 7 is your browser folow the directions to Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer. If Mozilla Firefox is your browser files must be downloaded individually rather than as a folder. Report other browser concerns, or suggestions, to grubbp@k12tn.net.

Step 5 locate the correct folder for the desired course (Downloads/Students/Downloads/Academic Area/Course Name)

Step 6 right click on desired course and select copy to folder

Step 7 send copy to the username folder

Step 8 email your teacher that download was successful - include course name

If you are experiencing problems with the FTP site try the following:

From Internet Explorer select Tools > Internet Options

Click Advanced tab

Make sure that "Enable folder view for FTP site" is checked

Make sure you have the latest version of Internet Explorer http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/
