Remember, you must have permission from your teacher to participate in coursework uploading.

 

Uploading

 

 Standard Directions are written for Internet Explorer 6.

 

Step 1              Create a folder on your computer with your username and the date (example: grubbp 02-28-06)

Note: Every upload should be a unique folder. If an upload has the same folder name as a previous upload the old folder, and its contents, will be replaced.

 

Step 2              Copy or move the files you want to upload into this folder on your computer

 

Step 3              Right click this folder on your computer and select copy

 

Step 4              connect to the internet http://kcahs.knoxschools.org and from the left menu select Current Students – Day Program – Downloads/Uploads. NOTE: You will be prompted for your username and password later – The username and password boxes in the header are NOT where you need to enter your username and password for file upload.

 

Step 5              proceed to Downloads/Uploads in the right column (additional directions available on the left column of page) then click Continue to FTP

 

Step 6              enter username and password (the same username and password used to login at TCS. username must begin with centerschool\ [centerschool\username])

                        Note: If Internet Exporer 7 is your browser folow the directions to Open FTP Site in Windows Explorer. If Mozilla Firefox is your browser files must be downloaded individually rather than as a folder. Report other browser concerns, or suggestions, to grubbp@k12tn.net.

 

Step 7              locate the upload folder for the desired course (Downloads/Students/Uploads/)

 

Note: you will be able to send files to the upload directory but you will be unable to read any files in this directory.

 

Step 8              right click and select paste

 

Step 9              email your teacher that upload was successful - include the folder name

                        Note: You must inform your teacher so that he or she will know that your work has been uploaded.

 

 

If you are experiencing problems with the FTP site try the following:

 

From Internet Explorer select Tools > Internet Options

            Click Advanced tab

                        Make sure that "Enable folder view for FTP site" is checked

 

Make sure you have the latest version of Internet Explorer http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/
